Goals and Perseverence

We are almost done cleaning the storage room (cue the Hallelujah Chorus). The garage is filled with items for charity. I broke down and broke the "no bribery" parenting rule--paid my kids to clean their rooms. I know, I know! But I needed it done fast, you know?

Over at Writebrainers we are posting summer goals. I may even be so bold as to cross-post mine in my sidebar, so they can glare at me through these warm months (eek!).

I've received an encouraging sort of rejection from an agent on my novel. She has given me some specific ideas for revision and said she'd be happy to look at it again once I've rewritten the manuscript. The initial cold wave of disappointment has been replaced with a glimpse of promising opportunity on the horizon. I'm going to have to row hard to get there, but what choice do we have if we love to write?
My current positive attitude is in no small part due to my friends at Writebrainers and encouragement from people like my dear husband who assures me on a regular basis that I am the best thing since sliced bread. While this is not true, he knows what to say when I need a boost. Thank you to all the encouragers out there. You do your job well, and I plan to reciprocate in kind!

I'm off to have an iced tea, look in my storage room, and feel the peace that organization brings. Ooooohhhhmmm.

I hope your day is filled with things that bring you peace. . . .

What do I have to pay you to get your attentions on the swamp? You and the Missus another night out maybe?
