Gary Schmidt
Mr. Schmidt has written a companion novel to the Newbery Honor winning, THE WEDNESDAY WARS. If you've never read Schmidt I highly recommend all his books. He is a shining star in the Children's literary cannon. And he's from Michigan, too! Here is a video about his newest book, OKAY FOR NOW, coming out this April.
